Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to all driving lessons and courses arranged through Costello's Driving School. By booking lessons with us, you agree to the following terms.
1. Driving Licence
You must hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence that entitles you to drive the vehicle being used for your lesson. Your instructor may ask to see your licence before your first lesson.
2. Self-Employed Instructors
All instructors operating under the Costello's Driving School name are self-employed driving instructors.
When you book lessons, you are entering into an agreement directly with your allocated instructor. Costello's Driving School acts as an introducer matching learners with suitable instructors.
3. Lesson Payments
Unless otherwise stated, all lesson payments are made directly to your instructor, who is responsible for collecting payment and providing the driving tuition.
Payment must be made in advance of your lesson unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed with your instructor. Block bookings and course payments are non-transferable and have no cash value.
4. Cancellations
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or rearrange a lesson, you must provide at least 48 hours' notice.
Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged at the full lesson fee at your instructor's discretion
If your instructor needs to cancel due to illness, vehicle issues or other unforeseen circumstances, they will arrange an alternative lesson as soon as reasonably possible.
5. Late Arrival
If you are late for your lesson, your instructor will wait where practical no longer than 10 minutes. Your lesson will still finish at the agreed time and the full lesson fee will apply.
If your instructor is delayed, any lost lesson time will either be added to your lesson where possible or rearranged at no additional cost.
6. Fitness to Drive
You must inform your instructor of any medical condition, injury, eyesight issue or medication that could affect your ability to drive safely.
Lessons will not take place if you are under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs or any substance that impairs your ability to drive safely. In these circumstances, the lesson will be charged in full.
7. Practical Driving Tests
Your instructor will advise when they believe you are ready to take your practical driving test. The decision to use the instructor's vehicle for the test remains at the instructor's discretion and will depend on your ability to drive safely and independently.
8. Behaviour
Costello's Driving School is committed to providing a safe and respectful learning environment. Abusive, threatening, discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour towards instructors or staff will not be tolerated and may result in lessons being terminated without refund.
9. Block Bookings & Courses
Any block booking or course must be be used within a reasonable period unless otherwise agreed. Refunds for unused lessons are at the discretion of the individual instructor and may be subject to an administration charge where lessons have been taken at a discounted rate.
10. Personal Property
Neither Costello's Driving School nor individual instructors accept responsibility for personal belongings left in a vehicle.
11. Changes to These Terms
Costello's Driving School reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website.
